Exploring how we manage conflict, listen across differences, and build more constructive conversations.
Explore my writingClint Allen Lorance is a Missouri attorney and author based in Hillsboro, with a growing focus on conflict resolution and constructive disagreement.
His writing explores how people can listen more carefully, question their assumptions, and work through differences with curiosity and respect. He approaches these subjects as an ongoing learner, drawing on his studies and earlier experience as a public defender with the Missouri State Public Defender.
Clint earned his Juris Doctor from Appalachian School of Law in 2023 and was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 2025. He is pursuing an LL.M. in Dispute Resolution at the University of Missouri, with expected completion in May 2027.
A former U.S. Army officer, Clint also writes military fiction and nonfiction about military justice, public policy, and his personal experiences. His books and the documentary below provide background to his story.

The Shocking Prosecution of Lt. Clint Lorance
Don Brown presents his account of the military case, including defense concerns about witness testimony, investigative methods, and biometric evidence. Brown was a member of the Lorance legal team. The book offers that defense perspective; the court records below document the legal outcomes and later developments.
View Don Brown’s book at WildBlue PressPresident Donald J. Trump granted Clint A. Lorance a full and unconditional pardon on November 15, 2019. On September 23, 2021, the Tenth Circuit held that accepting the pardon did not constitute a legal confession of guilt or waiver of habeas rights. That ruling addressed dismissal of a habeas petition and did not decide the merits of the convictions. A pardon and judicial exoneration are different outcomes.
